Minehead

This layout is built to represent the real location just post war 1939/1945 war. It can be run as any period since, including the present West Somerset railway headquarters. This allows for a wide range of different stock to be used, satisfying all section members' needs.

The layout has been built as accurately as possible, although the platform is shorter in scale size than the original.

The layout, measuring 20' x 12' is mainly used for exhibition purposes, and runs to a sequence representing the summer of 1947, a very busy period for this resort location.

Denton Ebsworthy

This layout is in the course of construction and is dedicated to the late section member and former vice president, Dennis Ebsworth.

It is being constructed to show how relatively easy it is to build a small (9' x 7') layout from easily available proprietry kits and models. It also satifies those who like to see continuously running trains.

Special Events

A few of the section's members like to arrange the occasional weekend away at train-related events or destinations. Day trips to various exhibitions are sometimes also arranged.
